In addition to this assault on LGBTQ+ rights, President Trump signed a second executive order aimed at abolishing birthright citizenship. This measure, in direct defiance of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. He seeks to deny citizenship to children born in the United States to undocumented immigrants and non-citizens. This unprecedented move undermines the fundamental principles of our Constitution and places millions at risk of statelessness, discrimination, and legal uncertainty.

FLORIDA NOW REACTS:
Debbie Deland, President of Florida NOW, said, “Trump is a shock and chaos dictator. We must denounce these oppressive actions as unconstitutional and dangerous. These executive orders are blatant attempts to strip fundamental rights from vulnerable communities, deepen divisions within our nation, and set a dangerous precedent for authoritarian governance. These executive orders are not only unconstitutional but a direct attack on human dignity. We refuse to stand idly by while our rights, our democracy, and our future are dismantled by a regime that seeks to impose its oppressive ideology on our citizens. The fight for equity and democracy is far from over. Together, we will resist, persist, and reclaim our rights. We will never be silent.”
