SB 1582 / HB 1409 – The Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore Florida Voting Rights Act: Allows eligible Floridians to register to vote at any time, automatically registers eligible individuals to vote when they interact with the DMV (unless they opt out), repeals certain laws that have created barriers to voting in recent years. | SB 440 / HB 1495 — Don’t Say Gay or DEI at Work: Prohibits employers from disciplining employees for speech based on “personal beliefs.” Bans businesses receiving state funds from requiring diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training on gender identity or sexual orientation. |
HB 1003 / SB 968 – Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility For Pregnant Women: Creates a pilot program to provide temporary Medicaid coverage to pregnant women who are presumptively eligible for Medicaid. Requires the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to implement procedures ensuring a seamless transition from temporary Medicaid coverage under the pilot program to full Medicaid enrollment, reducing gaps in healthcare access for expectant mothers. | SB 782 / HB 1033 – Immigration Scare Tactics For Biz Owners: Requires all employers in Florida use e-verify to screen potential employees immigration status (changed from only requiring biz with 25+ employees), creates a section to fine and revoke the license for any business for whom an undocumented immigrant performs labor or services for compensation for a period of one year, and a $10,000 (max) fine. |
