Florida NOW affirms that access to reproductive healthcare is not just a matter of personal choice—it is a fundamental human right and a matter of survival, safety, and self-determination. We embrace the framework of reproductive justice, as defined by SisterSong, which includes the right to have children, not have children, and to raise families in safe, sustainable communities.
Our advocacy goes beyond defending the legal right to abortion. We fight for full access to comprehensive, affordable, and culturally affirming reproductive healthcare—including abortion, contraception, prenatal and postpartum care, fertility services, gender-affirming care, and sex education—regardless of income, immigration status, age, or geographic location.
We oppose all efforts to restrict or criminalize reproductive autonomy through legislation, constitutional amendments, or regulatory attacks. We also reject the racist, ableist, and classist systems that have long controlled the reproductive lives of Black, Indigenous, disabled, incarcerated, undocumented, and low-income people.
Reproductive justice must include safe housing, environmental protections, healthcare access, childcare, and freedom from criminalization. Florida NOW is committed to organizing alongside the communities most impacted to ensure that reproductive freedom is a lived reality for all.
