Florida NOW is committed to advancing the rights, safety, and liberation of LGBTQIA2+ people in every aspect of life. We believe LGBTQIA2+ justice must go beyond legal inclusion and surface-level representation. Our work includes challenging the systemic oppression that targets queer and trans communities—especially Black, Indigenous, disabled, undocumented, and low-income LGBTQIA2+ people—through criminalization, economic inequality, anti-trans legislation, and healthcare denial.
We support community-led, culturally competent, and affirming healthcare for all, including access to gender-affirming care and mental health services. We advocate for LGBTQIA2+ youth in schools, families, and foster systems, where they are often at heightened risk of violence and erasure.
Florida NOW is also committed to shifting public narratives. We support media and educational efforts that reject homophobia and transphobia, center joy and resistance, and uplift the full humanity of LGBTQIA2+ people across all identities and experiences.
We continue to defend and expand civil rights protections, and we affirm the right of all people to build families, access healthcare, and live with dignity, safety, and autonomy—regardless of gender or sexuality.
