Women’s Equality Day: A Legislative Town Hall

August 26th marks Women’s Equality Day, and this year will be the 99th anniversary of women in America obtaining the right to vote. It’s our responsibility as lawmakers to mark this important moment in our nation’s history and elevate the need to pass policies that support women, girls, and other marginalized members of our community.

We have a lot of work to do in Florida. From passing the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), to ensuring access to reproductive health, to paid family leave, to equal pay, to public safety, and a less regressive tax structure — we want to talk about it all, while emphasizing the necessary steps it will take to pass the ERA during the 2020 legislative session.
