Start By Believing Training

Sexual assault survivors often face disbelief and blame when they disclose their abuse. This is why End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) created Start by Believing (SBB), a global campaign challenging each of us to do better. In the 10 years since SBB was founded, hundreds of communities have launched campaigns, 8 states have issued formal proclamations, and thousands of individuals have taken the personal pledge to Start by Believing when someone comes to them for help.
Save the date! Florida NOW is hosting our very own Start By Believing training on April 7th at 1:00 PM EST. Special guest Alison Jones-Lockwood from EVAWI will be conducting this training.This training will equip our members to join a local Sexual Assault Response Team and act as “Start By Believing” facilitators, with the goal of helping all law enforcement agencies in Florida to complete a Start By Believing training and take the pledge!
Together we can make sure all sexual assault victims in Florida are met with belief and support.
