SUMMARY:Anti-Racist Learning Book Club
DESCRIPTION:The FL NOW Book Club meets once a month on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 P.M. \nOur book club is a space for learning\, discussion\, and collective growth\, with a focus on racial justice and anti-racism. We explore the histories\, experiences\, and contributions of Black\, Indigenous\, Latinx\, Asian\, Arab\, and other communities of color. We examine both past and ongoing systems of oppression in the U.S.\, including slavery\, settler colonialism\, segregation\, and systemic racism\, and how these forces continue to shape society today. \nOur goal is to understand the real history of the United States\, confront cultural and structural racism\, and consider ways to build solidarity and dismantle injustice. This is a space for reflection\, dialogue\, and action\, guided by curiosity\, humility\, and a commitment to equity. \nWe welcome all people who are eager to learn\, grow\, and engage in critical conversations. Please join us! Contact Debbie Deland at vp@flnow.org for Zoom information. \n2026 Florida Now Book Club Reading List\nJanuary 2026: “The Bomb Heard Around the World: The Lives and Deaths of Harry T. and Harriet V.
